On that day, the United States launched a military strike on Venezuela and captured incumbent Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.
This was a violent wake-up call to nations who believed that their sovereignty would be respected,
and that the results of democractic elections within their own country would be respected.
